1What this policy covers

This policy applies to every part of ChatRoulette Live: the random video chat, text and voice modes, and the informational pages on this site. It covers account-free visitors as well as signed-in users. If you disagree with anything here, the right move is simply to close the tab — by then nothing about you has been stored beyond the technical minimum described below.

2The little we actually collect

You can spin the roulette with no account, no email and no profile. When you use ChatRoulette Live we handle a short list of technical data: your IP address and approximate country (used for routing and regional rules), browser and device type, and basic usage events such as matches started. If you decide to open an account or purchase coins, we also store your login credentials, coin balance and transaction history.

Camera and microphone access is requested only when you enter a chat, and you can revoke it anytime in your browser settings.

3Your conversations are not recorded

Live video, audio and text between two matched people is streamed peer to peer for the duration of the session and is not recorded, stored or reviewed by us. When a match ends, the conversation is gone. We cannot retrieve a past chat, show you a history of who you met, or hand a recording to anyone, because none of it exists on our servers in the first place.

The one exception is moderation: if a user files a report during a live match, a short technical snapshot may be captured so our team can act on it. That material is used only for moderation and deleted once the case is resolved.

4How the information is used

We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to data brokers or anyone else. Aggregated, de-identified statistics (for example, how many matches happen per hour) may be used internally or shared with partners, but never in a form that points back to you.

• Processing coin purchases and keeping your balance accurate
• Understanding, in aggregate, which features people use so we can improve them

5Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar tools: strictly necessary ones that keep your session alive, and analytics tools that tell us how the site is used in aggregate, under a pseudonymous identifier rather than your name. Most browsers let you block cookies; the chat still works, though returning to an existing account requires the session cookie.

6Your choices and controls

You can use ChatRoulette Live without telling us who you are, skip any match instantly, block or report anyone in one tap, and turn off camera or microphone mid-chat. Account holders may ask us to export or delete their data by email, and we complete verified deletion requests within a reasonable period.

ChatRoulette Live is strictly for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors, and any account found to belong to one is removed immediately.
