1Who may use ChatRoulette Live

ChatRoulette Live is strictly for adults. You must be at least 18 years old — or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if that is higher — to use any part of the service, including text-only modes. By starting a chat you confirm that you meet this requirement. Minors are not permitted under any circumstances, and sessions found to involve one are terminated and reported where the law requires it.

You are also responsible for making sure random video chat is lawful where you live.

2What the service is

ChatRoulette Live connects two strangers for a live one-on-one conversation over video, voice or text. Either person can end a match at any moment and be paired with someone new. The service is provided as is: we work hard to keep matching fast and the crowd real, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability, and we are not responsible for what another user says or does during a chat.

3Free to start, and how coins work

Starting out is free: new users receive free matches to try the product before spending anything. Longer sessions may use coins, our virtual credit.

Coins are sold in one-time packages. There is no subscription — nothing renews, nothing rebills, and there is no plan to cancel. Coins are a prepaid balance consumed as you chat, not redeemable for cash, and non-refundable once purchased except where applicable law says otherwise. Prices are always shown before you confirm a payment.

4How you are expected to behave

One rule sits above all others: there is a real person on the other side of your screen. Treat them the way you would want a stranger to treat you. Beyond that, the following are not welcome and can end your access:

• Any sexual content involving, directed at, or solicited from a minor — reported to authorities, no exceptions
• Harassment, threats, hate speech, or targeting someone for who they are
• Exposing yourself or sexual conduct toward a chat partner who has not clearly welcomed it
• Recording, photographing or re-broadcasting your chat partner without their consent
• Scams, spam, advertising, or sending people to outside links for money
• Impersonating another person, or using bots and pre-recorded video instead of a live camera

5Moderation, reports and bans

Every chat carries report and block controls; reports go to a human moderation queue. Depending on severity, a violation leads to a warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban. Decisions on severe cases — anything involving minors, threats of harm, or illegal conduct — are final and may be escalated to law enforcement. If you believe your account was actioned by mistake, you can appeal once by email and a different moderator will review the case.

6Liability and fair use

To the maximum extent the law allows, ChatRoulette Live is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including interactions with other users. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. You agree not to misuse the service: no scraping, no attacking the infrastructure, and no use that violates someone else's rights.

7Changes and contact

If we ever adjust these terms in a meaningful way, the revised version replaces this one and carries a fresh effective date; keep using the site after that and you are agreeing to the updated text. Questions about these terms, appeals, or anything legal go to one address: [email protected].
